Pre-Professional Ensemble

Welcome to Adventure Theatre’s Pre-Professional Ensemble!
We are working to build a robust program to provide unparalleled training in musical theatre to our area’s most talented young artists.

Our team looks forward to re-launching this exciting program in January 2023! We anticipate auditions taking place in October/November 2022 and would love to see you there.

Ideal for the triple threat (actor, dancer, vocalist) who knows that the stage is where they belong and are able to devote the time to intensive, rigorous conservatory-style study, the year-long Pre-Professional Track fosters a cohort of artists through a combination of training, performance, theatre attendance, special workshops, and master classes.

From Monday through Thursday, Pre-Professional students select and pursue their own training via Conservatory classes or tracks. On Saturdays, the entire Pre-Professional Track gathers to rehearse/perform specific numbers, scenes, or shows.

Pre-Professional Track includes (with no additional tuition fees; value is non-transferrable):
  • Up to two Secondary Classes or one Conservatory Track of your choice
  • Exclusive Pre-Professional ensemble rehearsal/instruction on Saturdays
  • Attendance of at least one regional theatre production and one Adventure Theatre production a semester
  • One master class and one workshop a semester
  • Exclusive Pre-Professional performance opportunities including the Winter Cabaret/Evening of Scenes, Annual ATMTC Gala, and Spring Spotlight (full production performed at Glen Echo Park)
  • One complimentary ticket to each Adventure Theatre production during the course of Pre-Professional Track
  • 20% tuition discount on one student production (Winter or Summer Stock)
  • 20% tuition discount on Summer Musical Theatre Training Program
  • Invitations to audition for ATMTC productions (pending specific casting needs)
  • Free swag (t-shirts, bags, hoodies, etc.)

Who: Grades 9 – 12 by audition-only; successful Pre-Production students will have previous training/experience in acting, dance, and singing.

When: Monday – Thursday afternoon (varies depending on class/track selection) and Saturdays from 12:45pm – 4:30pm

Cost: $2700 for a single semester or $5000 for an entire year (payment must be made in full at time of registration)

Here is what you need to prepare:

  • 1 headshot or recent picture
  • Vocal: Prepare two contrasting songs; a ballad and an up-tempo. Select 16-32 bars that best support your vocals. It is acceptable to start in the middle of a song if you so choose. Please bring sheet music in the appropriate key. An accompanist will be provided on the day of auditions. Students may not use pre-recorded music, but may sing a capella.
  • Dance: Please bring appropriate dance attire to allow freedom of movement, as well as ballet or jazz shoes. (Jeans and hard-sole shoes are not permitted.) No bare midriffs and hair longer than chin length must be pulled back from the face.

Multiple Class Discount – register for one class at full price (or early bird if before August 31) and receive a 10% discount on the second class!

Registration closes the week classes start.

Full tuition refund available only within 48 hours of registration. Partial tuition refund (minus $250) available up until two weeks prior to class start. Withdrawal or cancelation within two weeks of the start of class is eligible for account credit (minus $250). 

No refunds or credits available after class starts.
