Elementary classes at ATMTC are designed to give children in grades K-5 a well-rounded introduction to the wonderful world of Musical Theatre.
Through acting, song, and dance our students gain valuable 21st Century Skills that will carry them through many areas of their lives as they practice Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Creativity, and Communication in a fun and upbeat setting!
Our elementary classes are designed to meet your child where they are, and take them where they want to go—no matter their skill or experience!
Spring semester is 12 weeks and begins the week of February 6 – May 2, 2023 (No class April 4-8, 2023).

Students will learn a song and dance number from a popular
age-appropriate musical guided by one of our gifted teaching artists. Students will also learn the basics of stage performance, receive beginner vocal instruction, and will learn simple dance combinations that include some foundations of dance technique!
Students will learn a song and dance number, as well as a short scene from a popular age-appropriate musical guided by one of our gifted elementary teaching artists. Broadway prep students will focus on adding emotion and character into their songs, scenes, and characters as they work on putting together a fun performance. Students will also begin learning how to analyze scripts and songs, learn basic musical theatre terminology, and will continue working on building their foundational skills in acting, singing, and dance. While the skills learned in Broadway Prep will build on some of the basics taught in Sing, Dance, Act for those who take that class first, the class also serves as an entry point for any 2nd and 3rd grade students and there is on prior experience required!
Bridge to Broadway students will work to extend their range and character development through physical and vocal exploration, begin to learn specific basics of musical theatre dance, learn how to prepare for an audition, work on script analysis skills, and continue to focus on working as an ensemble. Students will work on a song and dance numbers, scenes, and will have more opportunities to practice singing and acting solo as well as working as an ensemble. While the skills learned in Bridge to Broadway will build on the basics taught in Sing, Dance, Act and Broadway Prep, this class also serves as an entry point for 4th and 5th grade students and there is no prior experience required!
If your child came to Summer Musical Theatre Camp and enjoyed themselves, this may just be the class for you! Students in mini-musical will work with a teaching artist to put together a short musical over the course o-f the 12 week semester. In addition to being cast in a role and learning blocking, choreography, and music, Mini-Musical students will get to peek behind the curtain and learn some of the backstage components that go into putting on a musical. This class will culminate in a short performance on the final day of the semester for family and friends. No prior experience required!
This is a parent-and-child preschool geared program, where a TA will lead participants through reading a story, and participating in 1-3 activities to bring the story alive each class. Parents will participate alongside their child for these classes. Each class is considered a separate program and may have different participants. Number of participants may vary.
