La presentadora Andrea le da la bienvenida al recreador Héctor L. Díaz. Para entrevistar a Gálvez, Andrea “viajará en el tiempo” a la década de 1780 y hablará sobre su distinguida carrera, desde su nacimiento en Málaga, España en 1746, hasta su carrera militar en las Américas.
Andrea Sarralde goes back in time to 1746 Malaga, Spain with reenactor Héctor L. Díaz, who will become Bernardo de Galvez, complete with costume, to tell his story, and discuss his distinguished career, from his birth through his military career in the Americas.

ACERCA DE Héctor L. Díaz

Héctor L. Díaz, nacido en Puerto Rico, ha tenido una pasión por la historia desde que creció en su isla natal. Actualmente, trabaja como analista para el Departamento de Defensa en Maryland, investigó y es autor de una resolución que reconoce la importancia de la participación hispana en el proceso de independencia estadounidense.

La resolución es ahora parte de los libros de texto y cursos de historia que se imparten en el estado. Díaz ha investigado las contribuciones de los hispanos a la Revolución Americana desde 1984, cuando escuchó por primera vez sobre ellos durante un viaje a Yorktown Battlefield Park, en Virginia. A partir de ese momento, y luego de mucha investigación, comenzó a escribir artículos y dar charlas sobre el tema. En 1993 fundó The Hispanics in History Cultural Organisation Inc., que se dedica a difundir los hechos históricos hispanos más destacados de la historia mundial. La organización también cuenta con un grupo de recreación que revive a las tropas hispanas que lucharon en la Guerra de Independencia de los Estados Unidos.

About Héctor L. Díaz

Born in Puerto Rico, Héctor L. Díaz has had a passion for history since growing up on his native island. At present, he works as an analyst for the Department of Defense. In Maryland, he researched and authored a resolution recognizing the importance of the Hispanic participation in the process of American independence. The resolution is now part of the history textbooks and courses taught in the state.

Díaz has researched the contributions of Hispanics to the American Revolution since 1984, when he first heard about them while on a trip to Yorktown Battlefield Park, in Virginia. From that moment on, and after much investigation, he started writing articles and giving talks on the subject. In 1993 he founded The Hispanics in History Cultural Organization Inc., which is dedicated to spreading the word on Hispanic historical highlights in world history. The organization also fields a re-enactment group which revives the Hispanic troops which fought in the American War of Independence.

ACERCA DE Christopher Henry Young

Quizás mejor conocido por sus actuaciones en Broadway en “A Bronx Tale The Musical”, Christopher ha sido parte del elenco de San Francisco el galardonado programa “Hamilton”. El nativo de Pensilvania también ha actuado en “The Wiz”, “The Winter’s Tale” y “Guys and Dolls” (Festival de Shakespeare de Oregón), y ha impartido un taller “Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations”. Young lleva a cabo talleres, seminarios y clases magistrales en todo Estados Unidos, llevando sus experiencias y la historia de su vida a las próximas generaciones de teatro.

About Christopher Henry Young

Perhaps best known for his performances on Broadway in A Bronx Tale The Musical, Christopher has been part of the San Francisco cast of the award-winning show Hamilton. The Pennsylvania native has also performed in The WizThe Winter’s Tale, and Guys and Dolls (Oregon Shakespeare Festival), and has workshopped Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations. Young conducts workshops, seminars and master classes all over the United States, bringing his experiences and life story to the next generation of theater
