ABOUT the series

Mixing It Up with Erin Quill brings new light to multi-racial and biracial stories with host Erin Quill from the original Broadway cast of Avenue Q. Erin will interview fellow actors and actresses about racial identity, representation onstage and onscreen, and talking to kids about acknowledging others’ identities.

Meet the Host

Erin Quill

Erin Quill holds a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University. She was a member of the Original Broadway Company of Avenue Q. Other favorite roles include Lady Thiang in The King and I on tour and Madame Rita in the 50th Anniversary Production of Flower Drum Song. She has appeared on a variety of television shows but most recently can be found on John Mulaney and the Sacklunch Bunch on Netflix, which has been nominated for two Emmy-awards. Her blog, Fairy Princess Diaries, has led to a ‘side hustle’ as a diversity expert within the theater world. She has put together panels on AAPI representation for the past five years at BroadwayCon, in addition to being sourced or interviewed by The New York Times, LA Times, Buzzfeed, BroadwayWorld, Playbill, Backstage, the International Business Times and others. 

Zachary Noah Piser

Erin Quill interviews Zachary Noah Piser, the Evan Hansen alternate on Broadway. Piser has also performed at various venues throughout the New York metropolitan area including the MetLife Stadium, the Lincoln Center, Feinstein’s/54 Below, and the Merkin Concert Hall.

Erin Quill interviews Ruthie Ann Miles, best known for playing Lady Thiang in the Tony award-winning revival of The King and I for which she won the 2015 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical and was nominated for an Olivier Award.

Erin Quill interviews Thom Sesma, Basque-American and Japanese Lortel-award nominee for his work in Classic Stage Company’s Classic Overtures. His most recent work includes Unknown Soldier, by Daniel Goldstein and the late Michael Freidman.

Erin Quill interviews actress and singer Tamlyn Tomita, best known as recently announced to be returning for the third season of Netflix hit series, Cobra Kai. Many remember her from Karate Kid 2 and as a fiercely female and formidable Vulcan/Romulan in Star Trek: Pickard.

Lucy Sheen & Sophie Miller-Sheen

Erin goes international with British stars of screen and stage Lucy Sheen and her daughter and fellow actress Sophie Miller-Sheen. Lucy is an actor of 40 years’ experience as well as a published playwright and poet. Sophie has appeared in a variety of well-known TV shows including Misfits and Dr. Who.
