Meet the Host

Dannielle Hutchinson

Dannielle Hutchinson started her career at Adventure Theatre as the Academy Registrar in 2015. She is a former teaching artist, actor, and playwright. As a proud graduate of Morgan State University, where she studied theatre arts and stage management under Shirley Basfield Dunlap, Dannielle began her theatre career as a stage manager for MetroStage in Alexandria, VA. Prior to joining the Adventure Theatre Academy team, she taught English and Drama in Prince George’s County Public Schools.

She has been seen onstage at Adventure Theatre, Pinky Swear Productions, Theatre Alliance, Disney World, and is a company member of Nu Sass Productions in DC. She previously co-wrote The Adventures of L.G. and I.F. for National Children’s Museum.

As the Associate Education Director Dannielle maintains and manages school partnerships as well as Out of School Time (OOST) and Afterschool programming.

Join Dannielle Hutchinson will be joined by ATMTC Academy’s very own Tony Thomas! Dannielle and Tony will talk about Tony’s journey as an artist, the barriers plaguing Black artists, how the industry has changed, and his vision for the future of musical theatre!

Episode Three: Jessica Childress

Join Dannielle Hutchinson as she welcomes back author Jessica Childress.The dynamic duo will discuss creative challenges, how to keep the child and joy in all of us at play, and give us a peek into Jessica’s next book, President Prudence: J.P. Leads the Country.
