PRODUCTION STAGE MANAGER

The Production Stage Manager (PSM) of Adventure Theatre MTC serves as the Resident Stage Manager for all five (5) professional Productions. In addition, the PSM assist the DOP in executing the Artistic Director and Director of Educations' visions for theatrical programming and Student productions. To achieve this, the PSM assists the DOP in ensuring that each production remains within the available resources of time, budget and personnel.

 

General work hours are based around the performance calendar with additional office hours during the week to fulfill the obligations of the position.

 

The PSM reports to the Director of Production (DOP) and supervises the Assistant Stage Manager and Show Crew.

TEACHING ARTISTS

Adventure Theatre MTC is seeking motivated Teaching Artists who enjoy teaching theatre and working with young people for both its onsite classes (Rockville and Glen Echo Park) and classes/productions facilitated with elementary schools in the DC metro area.

Ideal candidates possess: 
Bachelor’s?degree in Theatre, Theatre/Music Education or Elementary Education 
2+ years of teaching or teaching artist experience  
Ability to develop and execute on lesson plans  
Ability to work independently and in a team 
A passion for the arts and education 
Experience in Direction, Music Direction, and/or Choreography for young people. (For elementary school productions only)

MASTER INSTRUCTORS

Adventure Theatre MTC is seeking experienced Master Instructors for our  Conservatory, Pre-Professional, and Summer Musical Theatre Training programs for students in grades 4-12. The programs offer technique-based training, multiple days per week, in Vocal Music (including Music Theory), Acting, Ballet, Jazz, and Tap.  

Ideal candidates possess: 
5+ years professional experience in their discipline 
2+ years of experience teaching young people  
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred)?or equivalent experience in Theatre, Music, or Dance 
Experience as a Director, Music Director, Voice Teacher, and/or Choreographer ? 
Ability to develop and execute on lesson plans  
Ability to work independently and in a team 
A passion for the arts and education

WEEKEND BOX OFFICE STAFF NEEDED:

ATMTC is looking for responsible, organized, and friendly individuals to work in the Box Office on weekends. Responsibilities will include: ticket sales and answering patron questions about events both over the phone and in person; using Tessitura, to process orders and exchanges; and run Will Call for weekend performances as scheduled.  Will assist with all Box Office projects as needed.  Will sell merchandise from the Box Office after each show and will maintain a merchandise log, including reconciliation at the end of the day.  Must have strong customer service experience and must be a team player.  Interested parties should send an email of interest, resume, and availability to Heather Williams, hwilliams@adventuretheatre-mtc.org, ATMTC. WEEKEND/EVENING FRONT DESK STAFF NEEDED:


Adventure Theatre MTC is looking for responsible, organized, and friendly individuals to join our part-time ATMTC Academy front desk staff. This position serves as a frontline resource for the Academy and provides quality service to all individuals including students, teachers, parents, rentalsand guests. Scheduled hours would be on weekday evenings as well as Saturdays or Sundays in our Wintergreen Plaza, Rockville location. Duties include answering phones, greeting patrons in person, providing information about ATMTC programs upon request, assisting staff with administrative and promotional tasks as assigned, setting up/taking down rooms for rentals and performing closing duties of the Academy. BIRTHDAY PARTY HOSTS/HOSTESSES NEEDED:

 

ATMTC is looking for friendly people to work as birthday party hosts on Saturdays or Sundays. Responsibilities include setting up and cleaning up the birthday party room, greeting the parents and children, assisting the parents with the 1 hour birthday party, and escorting the party to and from the theatre. Applicants must be 18 years or older and be willing to submit a background check and finger prints.

HOUSE MANAGERS NEEDED:


ATMTC seeks house managers.  House Managers will make sure the lobby and theater are in proper order before the show begins, between shows, and at the end of the day.  The House Manager will communicate with the Box Office and Stage Manager to determine when to open the house, help patrons find a seat in the general admission theatre, and make sure rows are reserved for special parties.  During the show, they will work with the Box Office and the Stage Manager to coordinate late seating.  Dress code is business casual.
