Teen Classes

Teen classes are open to all young artists, regardless of prior experience or training.

The 2025 Spring Semester runs the week of February 17 through May 17 2025.

There are so many things that make ATMTC special. I could focus on the top-notch vocal, dance, and acting instruction. I could focus on the super entertaining stage productions. I could focus on the friends the kids make. But this time I'd rather focus on the staff. You can't help but feel it in every conversation, every interaction. The teaching artists, directors, and even those who work behind the scenes...they will blow you away with their passion for not just the performing arts but also for your child in particular. As a parent, that is everything.

My daughter has really enjoyed her class! She is excited to go every week and feels like it's a great combination of fun and learning new skills. It's great that she is getting a chance to meet new people in a fun and creative environment. That does not always happen with after school activities.

My children had so much fun and learned so much. As a parent it was also a joy to watch my kids come home and put on the music and rehearse their dance steps and lines. I was extremely proud to watch them perform in the Circus Circus show today.

Private Voice

Students will study the technical aspects of voice, geared toward the musical theatre genre, developing healthy skills they can use on and off the stage. Special attention and focus on breath support, resonance, placement, jaw and vowel work, and alignment, to expand and strengthen the vocal range. Students will also work on expression, artistry, and text exploration, working toward a sharing day performance for parents at the end of the semester. This course is guided by an age-appropriate curriculum taught by one of our qualified and gifted teaching artists.

*Pre-requisite for this course is completing one semester of Class Voice at ATMTC or equivalent prior vocal training experience.

The teaching artist will arrange a half-hour weekly session with the student.

Private Acting

Whether you want to strengthen your knowledge of how to build a character, work on audition material, or gain more experience analyzing materials and sharpening your technique, this class is for you. Our experienced faculty will create a plan for you to meet all of your goals in a private, safe space. Get ready to release your creativity and get invaluable feedback! This course is guided by an age-appropriate curriculum taught by one of our qualified and gifted teaching artists.

The teaching artist will arrange a half-hour weekly session with the student.

Class cost: $550

Wicked Class Voice (Grades 6-8)

Come Sing your favorite songs from Wicked! While studying the music from this Stephen Schwartz classic you will learn how to successfully execute proper diaphragmatic breathing, and have a strong working understanding of resonance and placement, as well as jaw, vowel, consonant, and soft palate work. Students will achieve the understanding and control to execute a musical theatre “mix”, and will also learn music terminology, study basic theory, as well as work on their ear training and sight singing skills. Students will also learn the fundamentals of creating a character through singing and build their confidence as musical theatre performers. The class will culminate with a sharing day for parents at the end of the semester.
