Spend the morning at Adventure Theatre!
Adventure Theatre MTC has fun and exciting field trip adventures for your group of 10 or more! All field trips take place at our professional stage in Glen Echo Park.
According to the Department of Education, live theatre education:
•Promotes identity development and growth.
•Builds empathy and relationships among peers.
•Empowers participants to transform their understanding of their place in the world.
Additionally, live theatre builds an inclusive mindset, helps students understand others emotions, promotes participation and teamwork, and are a proven effective way to bring curriculum to life.
***Limited underwritten tickets are available for Maryland Title 1 schools (approximately 75 tickets per school). Please fill out the Request A Field Trip Online and indicate you’re a Title 1 School on the form to take advantage of these tickets while supplies last.***
Field trips are only available to school groups, Wednesdays through Fridays, at 11am. Field trip tickets are $11 each with reduced Title 1 prices available. A minimum of 10 students is required to book a field trip unless this is a specified Homeschool designated performance.
Email our Patron Services Manager, call 301.634.2270, or fill out our form online to book your group. If you are specifically looking for school field trips, please choose a weekday student matinee performance at 11 a.m.
No, requesting a field trip does not mean you have tickets. We will check our dates/times and get back with you which dates are available for your group. Then, you have to accept the tickets and request a contract. Typically, this is also when teachers arrange bus transportation. Only when a contract is signed and returned to ATMTC do you have reserved seats. Deposit is required at the time of contract signing. Please let us know if your group will have an issue with the deposit payment.
We have bench seating. This means that it varies from performance to performance, but for a Field Trip, we can generally hold approximately 170 total, adults and children. For groups larger than this, we will attempt to split your group into two to accommodate them over multiple performances.
Simply fill out the Request a Field Trip Online form and indicate your school is Title 1. If you are located in Maryland, we will consider your school an SAI field trip if tickets are remaining from the grant.
Please note that we have limited the SAI tickets to 75 per school. You may accept the 75 tickets and purchase additional tickets at $8 each, or you can be placed on a wait list for additional free tickets if you are unable to make the Title 1 price work.
Adventure Theatre MTC is located at 7300 MacArthur Blvd, Glen Echo, MD 20812. This is the only address for the theatre.
Parking and unloading of buses is located on Oxford Road off of MacArthur Blvd. It is NOT visible from the Park. If you unload the buses underneath the Glen Echo Park sign, you will be asked to remove the buses from the area.
We recommend planning to arrive approximately 35 minutes prior to the start of the show. This allows for time to park, unload the buses, stop at the public restrooms, and checking in all prior to the start of the show.
No. We recommend booking the most you think you’ll need to ensure we will have space in the theatre. You may reduce the number of tickets before your final payment.
